89 Turbo Engine Questions: Long

I purchased an 89 900S Turbo hatchback with a blown engine. Excellent mechical condition otherwise; rust free.
But two mechanics are telling me two different stories: one said I shouldn't put a used engine in it unless the used engine has 80-90,000 miles on it.. He gets them ocassionally and I'm on his wait list. Wants $1,000 including engine swap labor: take mine out, put his in.
The second mechanic says a used engine with 130,000 is fine. And he just happens to have one. The engine he has is running, but is in a 90 Turbo that got hit in the nose, so the radiator is marginal and engine can't be run long. Claims he'll do a compression check and guarantee the engine or replace it once it's in my turbo. Wants $800 including engine swap labor to take mine out and put in the used.
I'm looking for some feedback.
Also, my turbo is a manual with 170,000 miles. Should I automatically have the clutch changed at the same time as the engine swap or wait until I get the car running. The second mechanic says the clutch replacement on my car would be easy and wouldn't require pulling the engine.
