Hi all,
I'm going to approach a neighbor who's had an 85 turbo sitting in the driveway w/o moving for over a year. So I'm brainstorming what I'd like to move over to my 88 900s.

BACKGROUND: my 88 is in pretty darned good shape. Headliner's drooping, right CV sounds bad, there's some highway-speed steering vagueness that might be ball-joint related, the alternator was squealing, and the exhaust is gone.

=======================================================================
MY LIST SO FAR... (Assume that I'm going to get unlimited scavenging rights to the car, I'm looking for both "project" and "smart money" suggestions, and I have no fear of adapting things to fit SO LONG as I know in advance that the adaptation is possible. See "turbo," below.)
========================================================================
Swaybar(s)

driveshafts (only if better than current)

seatbelts (We hate the "electric mouse" in the 88. This means changing the B-Pillar trim, and the headliner. And success hinges on all the holes--especially the BIG ONE for the shoulder-strap mount--being present on the 1988. Comments on liklihood?)

interior (Only if better than current...)

turbo? (Exhaust & intake plumbing. Including filter, intercooler?, MAS, wastegate. Adding turbo to this engine would have to be done BEFORE replacing the currently rotten exhaust, since the 900s and 900t exhausts are radically different. APC, what else? Fuel pump? FPR? oil-cooler or water-jacket? Is this the stupidest idea ever? Can I even HOPE of doing this w/o emptying my WORKING A/C?)

=========================================================================

So what would you do? Or, what do you think is patently bananas in my list?

MORE BACKGOUND:
We're using the tax-refund (overpayment, not legislative) so I can afford to get new bushings and fasteners for old sub-assemblies. This 88 is the best SAAB I've ever had, and the whole family loves it. We only have 88k miles on it, so it is really quite new.

Now, go crazy, the wild-suggestions are always welcome. And flaming criticsms will not be rejected out of hand.

Thanks in advance,
Ben
