Check under the floor mats, and remove a door sill to check under the insulation for moisture. The older the C900's get the more likely they are to have body rust. Also ask questions to see if he gave it 30 seconds before shutdown to let the turbo cool down, as that is definitely an oil cooled turbo and needs time to cool down, and even then will probably coke oil. Listen for timing chain rattle under the hood, most likely that shouldn't be a problem, but if he wasn't good about oil changes you never know.
Give it a good checkover and most problems should jump out at you. That's super low mileage, I hope it turns out well for your friend.
