General tools and fluids and Bentley. In town, nothing. On road trips it depends on where I'm going.
My breakdowns on the road have been
1. dead battery. (should have recognized the symptoms.)
2. broken ground to alternator.
3. Broken lower a-arms (twice! each side. Wish I knew how to inspect them)
4. broken primary cooling fan on a desert trip.
5. broken harmonic balancer. (should have recognized the pre failure symptoms).
#1 you can limp during daylight.
#2 is fixable with simple tools and a crimp terminal.
#3 You're gonna be towed.
#4 You can limp in short steps. Now I take a spare fan to the desert.
#5 You're probably gonna be towed. You have no coolant pump and no alternator. You can limp a few miles if you let the engine go cold and its daylight. You're not gonna spare part this one.
