The amp is a Phoenix Gold XS4600. Its a couple years old, but I am pretty certain that they still make something comparable.
Specs:
75 watts rms per channel on 14.4 volts to 4 ohms
150 watts rms per channel on 14.4 volts to 2 ohms
300 watts rms bridged on 14.4 volts to 4 ohms
No mention of Total Harmonic Distortion, but the signal to noise ratio is >100dB, which is considerably better than many amps of this power and price range.
I paid about $250 for it, but that's with the "know the manager" discount. I think it listed for around 6 bills. Markup is astronomical on electronics, as you probably know.
The perfect 10 actually belongs to my roomate, his car is not insured right now, yoink! ;o) I had two of these in my Integra prior to selling it, and the bass is about the cleanest I have ever heard (sealed box, don't use anything else unless you just want to piss people off). When I buy a sub, I will either go with the perfect 12 or the JL 12W6 V2. The 12W7 is definately worth looking into, it rocked the car audio world at its introduction. However, it costs a pretty penny, needs a certain box ($$$), and you need 800 watts (IIRC) to run it. I haven't heard a whole lot of good things about Boston, I would personally stick with Infinity or JL for a sub. Let me know if you have any more questions regarding my system or for reccomendations. I have a few contacts in this industry, I get to see from the retailer's perspective what sings and what stinks. Have fun, enjoy those gorgeous wheels, you bastard! ;o)
