When you flushed and refilled, it is important to bleed the system with the heater on high temp. If you did this, then the coolant loss is not just the heater core refill. Slow leaks can be at water pump weep hole, or hose clamps or heater valve or exp tank cap and of course the headgasket.
Headgasket clues are: stream of bubbles coming from small radiator return hose, cooling system pressurizes well before coolant gets hot, a spark plug that is incredibly clean. Oil in coolant and coolant in oil are sometimes hard to detect. A little bit of oil froth is common from condensation, but if it persists, I's suspect a headgasket problem. A good shop will have an exhsut gas sniffer that will detect exhaust in the coolant tank.
