Re: How easy to convert from LH 2.2 to LH 2.4?. any 1 done Posted by RS [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: How easy to convert from LH 2.2 to LH 2.4?. any 1 done, F.Davalos, Sun, 6 Apr 2003 21:48:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you wanted to do it, you'd have to change the complete fuel injection wiring harness, all the way from the AMM back to the ECU. The connector to the LH 2.4 ECU is a 35-pin (IIRC) unit, different than the 25-pin connector for the LH 2.2.
The fuel injection wiring harness isn't all that bad to remove from the car, just having done that on my late LH 2.2 '88 900T. So, the harness itself shoudn't be a horribly difficult swap ... assuming a few contortions to get the cable bundle through the hole on the right side kickpanel by the ECU.
Unfortunately, I don't know whether the interconnections between the FI wiring harness (for getting 12 VDC power to the LH ECU and the connections to the System and Fuel Pump relays) are the same between LH 2.2 and LH 2.4 cars.
I'd be able to tell you better when I've pulled the FI wiring harness from an LH 2.4 car at a pick-n-pull.
The thing to be careful of (other than the unknown interconnection possibilities) is that you will absolutely need the AMM from the LH 2.4 car, as using the AMM from the LH 2.2 car will burn out the 2.4 ECU.
