Funny you should mention .....!!
Thursday morning, I found an Email from some claiming to be from a small African coastal republic, who wanted to buy my '86 900S full price. Would send me a cashier's check and arrange to ship the car himself.
But, there was an attachement to the Email that discussed what turned out to be a scam for another Saab owner. Seems that the cashier's check turned out to be "Bad" - after the bank accepted it for deposit into the seller's account and after the car shipped. The slight difference was that this owner was told to pay for shipping from the funds that were sent to him. It was at the point that he went to withdraw money from his account that his bank told him that the cashier's check was NG.
Oh well, what's the old adage - "If it's too good to be true it usually is."?
