As some of you may remember, a month or so ago I lost clutch pedal. I have left the car in my driveway all of that time trying to figure out what is wrong with it, so that I can send it to the shop with prior knowledge of the problem. I am at a loss right now. The car is a 89 900 Turbo. As the story goes I was driving home and proceeded over some train tracks (They would have to be the crappiest tracks in the world!) at a pretty rapid pace. After that I continued home and had no problems with the clutch or anything. I attempted later that same evening to go to a basketball game and the pedal went to the floor, with the "Brake Fluid" light staring at me like a bull ready to charge for my wallet. I then added fluid and attempted to pump up the clutch pedal, It worked! so I went back into the house and skipped the basketball game and decided to get reasy for work the next day. When I tried it in the morning same thing no g@#d!&n pedal again this time there was fluid all over the ground. I checked the inside of the car around the clutch mater for a leak, nothing. Tried looking around the skid plate area, nothing. Tried looking just generally under the car bingo!, leaking right by firewall area like crazy, and occasionally from where appears to be the gear box. All of my belts are soaked with brake fluid. How do I know that it is brake fluid? because all of the other fluids never lose their level while the car is running only brake fluid leaks.
Now after all that was said I checked the clutch master cylider, it's not showing evidence of leaking from the slave, because most of the fluid is concentrated by the alternator belts. The hose from the brake fluid res. is fine. The only thing I can tell you is that where the cv arm meets the gear box is soaked with something. Where could it be coming from? Could aleak at the gear box cause no clutch pedal? If not what are all the instances that would dictate having no clutch pedal?
