Heads interchangeable from turbo to non-turbo?

Car is a 87' turbo 8-valve that needs a new head gasket. Engine has the C-Jetronic injection system. In considering how to attack the problem, especially if the head has cracked, I've found this possible solution:
I've been offered a dirt cheap parts car, a '86 carburetor equipped normally aspirated 8-valve engine. My question is: Should it be necessary, can I take the '86 head and smack on my '87 block, or are there differences between turbo and non-turbo versions? Otherwise the only possible problem I can see is the higher compression ratio, which the '86 valves will never have encountered before.
Today I removed the spark plugs to let the engine dry out, and yanked the fuel pump fuse so I could crank it over a little with the starter. When turning the engine perhaps 100ml of coolant came out the nr. 1 cylinder plug hole, so there's little doubt what's wrong!
Thanks in advance for your help, best regards
