I'd take a look at radios in local car audio stores, Posted by RS [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Have fun exploring in the radio, KMN, Sun, 27 Apr 2003 18:43:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
in chain electronic places, and in chain car parts stores. Shooting form the hip, Panasonic has a bunch of decent radio/CD players around $150.
If you get a cassette player, you'll want to get an auto-reverse unit with *full logic* controls. Other than that, take your time and look at a lot of different units.
I'd be hesitant to let any of these places install the radio because I've had some "professional" shops do a horribly amateurish job. Properly installing a head unit isn't rocket science.
The one thing that will make installation easy and straightforward is getting the wiring harness adaptor for your year SAAB. Using that, you can make all of the connections to the radio wires with the unit out of the car. When you're ready to put it in, you just plug the adaptors into the wiring harness connectors. Sometimes they're available at audio or chain parts stores, but you can get them from Crutchfield.
