Convertible top replacement questions. Need Help.

I have bought a top from Bill Hirsch and doing a DIY replacement but I need some help. I am using Pat Price's instructions.
Problem: I am replacing the rear window and I have stapled it in place per instructions. When I put the top down everything seems fine, but when I raise the top back up it is pulling the staples from the tack strip the two corners where the rear window and support strap are stapled along the bottom. It pulls out about 2 inches of staples on each side. It happened once and I restapled a bit looser. It happened again and this time the tack strips came apart on the corners. I am going to replace the tack strip, but will I still have the same problem? What is causing this? Is the rear window supposed to be stapled all the way to the ends? Should I try to loosen up those corners a bit and leave some slack? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Second problem: I have glued the top to the front bow and next step is to install the windstop. The new windstop that was included doesn't look at all like the OEM one. The new one is only about 1 inch wide where as the old one was completely covered in fabric and was more that two inches wide. It was also tapered on the ends. How does this new windstop
get assembled. There are two pieces of cloth that came with the kit that I don't know what they are for. Is one of these used to cover the windstop. Any ideas on how this part goes together using a Hirsch top?
Thanks
Brian
