Running an original turbo in my 90 with 290k miles on it. The turbo in our 85 went at 200k, but that is not water cooled.
Other items will break first or maybe have already been replaced: steering rack, headliner, A/C items, heater valve, front wheel bearings, alternator voltage reg/brushes. Ask for history on these items.
Expect to replace the headgasket between 150-250k miles depending on coolant maintenance. If the car is pre-89, the trans pinion bearing is a weak point and if the car has been driven hard, a trans rebuild might be coming up soon. 89-on have a larger pinion bearing that while not bulletproof can last (mine is orig).
