There have been many posts on this recently, so try a search. To rule out heater valve remove left speaker and take a look at the valve, any leaks will be obvious. At the same time, look for signs of water below the windshield.
Other leak sources include: door weather stripping, steering column boot at firewall, clogged sunroof drains(especially if also wet under rear carpet), knee bolster bolt hole, various firewall grommets. I would remove the driver's seat, pull back the carpet, and have a helper spray water with a garden hose to help find the leak. Mold loves the insulation under the rug, so make sure you dry it out. Kill the mold with a disenfectant like lysol or tilex(will bleach carpet, though).
