removing rear seat backrest...

I am trying to remove my rear seats, and I got the bottom part out easily. But the bentley gives instructions for a convertable, not my SPG. I see two hinges on either side of the seat, and i popped the spring off, giving the seat more play, but it still won't come off. Anybody know what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.
