You have air in the clutch lines. The master cylinder you have read about in other posts is the clutch master cylinder. Saabs have two master cylinders. The clutch master is a small cigar sized cylinder that the clutch pedal attaches to. The seal gets worn over time. It is fairly easy to replace.
The other culprit could be the clutch slave cylinder. Air can also get into the system through it's seal. It is not as simple to change, but still not too bad. Bentley has good explinations for both procedures.
But before you go to the trouble of changing either, try simply bleeding the clutch system. You'll find the bleeder valve on the clutch slave cylinder at the front of the car. I have done this from time to time and saved the clutch master and slave replacements for the next time it goes into the shop for something major.
Hope this helps.
