Remove your valve cover and inspect the pad in the roof of the cover. Chances are it will be hard, replacement is simple. While the cover is off, inpect the chain for visible wear and tension. Set the engine to TDC to make sure that the timing notches line up at the sprockets. If so, chain is OK.
