Have you done any work to the front trans mount? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: a/c belt ate through hose!, rodel, Sat, 3 May 2003 17:16:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have seen cases where the front trans mount, or trans mount bracket have been installed incorrectly.
With that the engine is tilted more backwards and A/C belt ends up closer to lower heater hose.
The most common mistake is on the 900 with solid trans mount and a bracket. That bracket is usually installed upside down (because it's easier)and it create this problem.
A loosely tensioned A/C belt can also create this, since it wobbles more and manage to reach the hose sometimes.
Or, it could be that someone have swapped the upper and lower heater hose. They have a little bit different bend right where they enter the fire wall. If the upper heater hose is placed at the lower position, the A/C belt can reach the hose.
Good luck
Anders
