Hi,
My 86 900S non turbo automatic with 210K , was running just great. Two days ago, I was driving home from work, cruising at 55, and when I pressed the accelerator to spead up, there was no response from the trans! I coasted to the side of the road, and got towed home.
The engine runs fine, and the auto trans fluid is at the appropriate level. With the engine running, you can select any gear , D, 2,3, or R, and there is absolutely no movement of the car, although the engine hums right along. With the engine off, you can be in D, 2,3, or R, and push the car forward or backward. If it is in Park, the car cannot be pushed.
Any ideas on what the problem is? thanks to all of you for any suggestions....
Jay
