It seems I went through a pair of valves every 10 months for awhile...the last set has lasted a couple of years.
When I tried to run without them, the nozzles dribbled after using...bad prostate, I guess :>)
So I replaced them yet again and this time kept diligent track of the receipt...12mos, unlimited mileage warranty from Saab dealer. I was really primed to turn them in the next time they failed!!
But in the meantime I gave up on the cheap @#$%@# blue $#!& w/s washer fluid that sells for $.99 in the auto stores and concocted my own based on a superficial (nasal/olfactory) analysis of some high end Audi stuff at $10 a quart, makes one gallon diluted,(Lave-Glace ?? from France) that appeared to be mostly isopropyl alcohol, water, a surfactant/detergent of some kind, and a little bit of ammonia.
I use a quart of 90% (NOT the 50% rubbing alcohol that also comes with glycerin) isopropyl alcohol diluted with equal amount of water, a tablespoon of "Simple Green", and one to two tablespoons of ammonia. I can get away with 50 isopropyl alcohol but it takes twice as much and don't dilute it with water.
Alternatively I've also had good luck with the $2.99 bug cleaning juice that comes premixed per gallon and is also good to -20F for winter.
I've disassembled the OEM pressure valves upon failure and the failure mode seems to be a dissolving of the diaphragm or torn diaphragm perhaps caused by hardening or whatever. Like I said, it seems to be related to what type of fluid used.
With this mixture it works
