I've kind of been watching the posts, and I have to ask: Did you use a Saab Dealer (OEM) clutch kit, or what specifically did you use/install?

I did 3 clutch jobs over the years (on 900 Turbos, all). First one I tried, I did not use a Saab kit - I tried to install only what I thought I needed (IIRC it was a pressure plate), and my experience was sort of similar to yours - NOTHING went right! I back-tracked, used an OEM kit from the Saab dealer, and never looked back. Used bicycle cable for the pressure plate tool twice, old fan belt once. The kits went like clockwork using a HAYNES manual at the time. Bleeding was difficult, as I had no "GOOD INFO". I think we ended up using an old extra cap of some type which fit the threads, with a hole drilled in it and a rubber valve stem installed, a bicycle foot pump for pressure, and so on. But - everything worked, in spite of the shabby approach!

I wish had some good suggestions for the solution to your clutch difficulties, but about all I DO know is - the clutch should be consistent, and predictable. I suggest you review, from step #1, carefully, to ensure all parts are in right, and if all those answers are "yes", then study websites with "bleeding" procedures. If the right parts are installed correctly, bleeding can be the only solution. But - are all the right parts installed correctly?

Or, if a full Saab Dealer kit wasn't used, that might be the source of the difficulties.
