Convertible Rear Shocks/Springs

The short version:
What stock and aftermarket shocks and springs will fit an '89 turbo CVT? What is the differnce between the CVT and hardtops in this area?
The long version:
Greetings all. This is such a great site. I don't get to spend much time on here, but since I purchased my first Saab ('73 Sonnet III) almost 10 years ago saabnet has always been there to help me through the rough times.
Anyway, I have an '89 900 turbo CVT that I am try to resuscitate after a year or two of very light use (start it up drive around the block every month or so). One thing I've noticed is its gotten very floaty (like big old oldsmobile floaty) and with 4 adults on board its practically dragging the tail pipe on the ground. Therefore I'm assuming once all the other quirks are worked out I'll be needing shocks and springs.
In the scowering of the internet I've been doing I've found a number of refferences to the rear spring/shock setup on the convertibles being different than that in the hardtops. Can anyone tell me what exactly the differences are? I'd like to know what aftermarket shocks and springs will work in the convertible, and what stock setups (SPG for example) can be used on the CVT. For those that don't work out of the box, is there any practical way to adapt them for use in the CVT?
Thanks,
Rob
