Another SAAB ... You got the disease.
If it's an '85 or early '86, the transmission has external centering as opposed to internal centering that your car has. You'd have to swap the interior shifting/key assembly.
4 years is a long time without a start.
Giving it a start might not be such a bad idea. Check the fluids to get some idea of the condition of the oil and coolant. If there's sufficient engine oil, pull the plugs and pull the fuel pump relay. Attach the battery and crank it until the oil light goes out. Let it sit and repeat a few times. Then put the plugs in and see what happens. Let it idle until it comes up to temp. Then see if it moves.
I'd be worried that a cylinder might be full of coolant from that failed headgasket.
On a Turbo with that many miles, I'd be concerned about the pinion bearings.
The upside to having a Turbo transmission in a 900S is that the primary ratio makes the gearing a little bit taller. Lower RPMs at highway speeds.
