equipment. An arc welder can shunt some stray voltages that can burn out computers, etc. Also remove any explosive devices in the car like air bags or explosive seatbelt tensioners. I don't think there are any in your car but you've been warned.
That being said, I don't think there's any danger in arcwelding the nut back onto the frame with the ground close to the weld. One tip...put a bolt into the nut while you're welding it....both to hold it and to keep the threads from getting splattered. When you remove the bolt, chase the thread with a tap and you're good to go.
