I have a problem with my Saab now, thought I would bring it up and see what you think. First, if you havent replaced the ball joints on your 900, do it now. I figured I would wait since I have no money and i am unemployed. 50mph + sharp turn on the Stephenson in Chicago = broken driverside ball joint. I then shredded the axel on that side. After that the pinion bearing, smacked the rear differential cover, which cracked the diff in 2 spots. One crack being over 7 inches long. Needless to say all this for a ball joint! I called the dealer, and they recommend a new tranny which was redesigned and it costs over 2000 dollars! Now on to the questions...
Does the diff come off separately?
Do I have to replace the tranny to get the car running?
Do I have to pull the engine combo to fix this?
Can anyone recommend a parts site that might list prices?
Thanks all, Your the best.
