water leaks from outside solved(?), '88 spg

I think I solved my leaks from from the outisde. I ended up tearing all the carpeting out, even though I thought I could avoid it. That seemed the only way to track where the leaks were coming from (it also helped to lysol the under foam pad). There were leaks from: under the car where the body plugs came loose from scraping (and denting) the underbelly. I hammered the foot wells and sealed the plugs with butyl window sealer. also leaks where three screws attach metal strip along front of doors holding carpeting inplace. Leaks also from gas cap area where overflow dran broke and let water into rear well (there was some gloves there holding the water from draining. I recommend removing all fabric from those wells to ensure draining and cut down on moisture retention). Also leaks around passenger door which was out of alignment and permitted water in around gaskets. Also water can get in around rear side window, but I'm not fixing that since water only comes in when put under pressure from hose at exact spot. Also holes in 8 inch vent behind rear bumper on left side. Isealed with silicone sealer. There may be other holes, but I left car out in rain and drove in rain and didn't find water. I have no real recommendations on fixing leaks except tearing all carpeting out. Letting pads dry, lysol. And driving car in the rain. Window butyl sealer is a good material. I had rips on rubber under pads. I found nothing will stick to them, even when cleaning with alcohol. I tried seeral tapes and even tried ice and water shield used for roofing. That stuff sticks to everything, but not to Saab rubber pads.
