tranny problem- need advice (5th gear)

I was driving for about 10 hours yesteday to chicago, everythign was okay (fortunately). I came here just fine, parked, this morning i was trying to start it up everytihgn was fine, i started driving, tranny works but it looks like there is no 5th gear at all. Last night all gears were workign, this morning 5th gear does not go in at all. Any advice? I have a 900 1985 178k. There is still same pinion bearing sound, no more of it then before... everything is the same... but no 5th gear...?! I have to drive this this back yet for another 10 hours... I changed oil just before I left for here and I put regular 10 w 30 in, i was going to change it to Honda mtf here, anyone thinks it may help to fix the problem. No strange sounds or anythign, just no 5th gear... Please help with advice!
