Not sure what car you have, But I just did this today on my 88 spg. Well I finsihed what I started about 2 weeks ago. I went with an odyssey 925mft sla battery. I installed it under the passenger rear seat. I ran 2 guage wire next to passenger side door(under carpet)to where old bat. use to be. I mounted rockfurt fosgate fuseable links with 80 amp fuses next to washer bottle cantainer. I cut stock negative battery connecter off and installed it into link. Same with positive side.Basically what I did is splice old w\new. I did not run new ground ,or positve wires to starter. I used stinger battery terminals that alllowed me to input 2 gauge wires and 4 guage stereo amp wires along with another 4 guage ground that I mounted where seat belt is connected.
Hope this helps.
The fuseable links also allows me to connect any other aux. power and ground up front like water inj and such, so I don't have to re-route everything to the new bat.
Time for another beer :)
