Since it's an 1990 900T it's the check valve for EGR. The PCV check valve is usually grey/white.
Maybe you have a couple of other vacuumhoses hooked up the wrong way too, and that makes the EGR valve stay open at idle.
EGR valve is only suppose to open during part cruising.
I don't have the schematics in my head for vacuumrouting since here in California, the EGR is removed from the 1990 900T due to an emission recall.
