These are electronic parts with a bathtub curve type of failure....unfortunately I don't know the MTBF and Bosch ain't talking!
Interestingly, I think we're still on the flat end of the curve because I haven't heard of wholesale ignition module replacement on 79 and up 900 cars, which leads me to believe the ignition module failures are random rather than wearout.
A better analysis would be of those who have replaced their modules more than once with more than 50-60K miles between replacements. Or perhaps a poll of when TSN lurkees replaced theirs. BTW, I don't believe I've replaced an ignition module on my 87 900T and it has 250K or so on it. OTOH, I DID have to replace the module on an 84 900T, somewhere around 100K IIRC, but that was 11 or more years ago.
