I've got a 1988 SAAB 900S. I was driving it to a friends to put a new alternator on, when one of my battery leads came off. Everything started going whacko, CE light came on, got REALLY bright, and the high beam light came on. Idiot light came on and told me to shift but i was in FIFTH GEAR! Then the smoke smell came, so I just turned the ignition off and coasted the rest of the way there.

Well, I got my new alternator on and fixed the battery cables, but when I turn the car to ON, the left (and only the left! The A/C isn't on.) radiator fan comes on, and stays on. The vehicle starts fine, but as soon as you give it throttle, it DIES. CE light is on, haven't checked yet. I've got the AMM off for checking, but Townsend is down so I dunno how to check it.
