1. If you turn the ignition key to the run position w/o starting the car, does the charge indicator lamp (has a battery icon) light up momentarily, and are all the wires connected to the alternator (there should be 3 wires- 1 big red, 1 smaller black ground wire, and 1 grn/wht wire that completes the charging circuit) ?
2. Has the alternator ever been tested, and is the alt. belt tension proper (if it is, it should only give 1/2 an inch when you press in the middle of the belt ?
3. Have you inspected the battery cables (both neg. and pos.) for insulation cracks?
4. Have the half a dozen or so major grounding points throughout the vehicle been inspected to make sure that there are no opens or high resistance conditions ?
5. (unlikely) Test the ignition switch itself to make sure that the proper contacts are closed throughout all the positions on the switch. The Bentley manual has details on how to perform this test.
Summary- The only items I have ever heard of that cause drain conditions are usually items that are powered directly and operate when a relay closes. i.e. stereo amplifier, etc. Other items include convenience lamps and the passive seat belt system. If your car has passive belts, you should get them converted to regular belts anyway because IMHO, they're not safe.
In all probability, you have a bad ground somewhere that's preventing the charging circuit from working.
