cat is removed.
A standard equipped car of your vintage (not modded) runs around 1%CO without cat, but the HC is probably gonna hover around 400-800 HC on a stock car.
Plus every little hickup the engine does, is gonna send the gasses sky high. The cat works kind of a buffer too for irregularities in running.
This is under the assumption that your neck of the woods don't have the OBD2 smogcheck like the big cities do with rolling test bench and checking the NOx gas.
