Urgent Tranny?????(semi long)....

Memorial day weekend I had the drive axles/CV joints replaced for 500$ in my 83 900t with 320,785MI. The following Friday Im getting onto the freeway and make the shift from first to second going uphill, when I released the clutch there was a horrible metal on metal sound, not grinding but more of a rattling. I depress the clutch and the sound goes away and pull of the side of the road. I check all the fluids and everything is fine, Im not leaking anything either. I restart the car and with it in neutral release the clutch and the rattling sound is there. Seeing as how I dont have any money becasue I just had the CV joints done I very gingerly drive the car home. I just had the clutch done in Nov. with a 12month/12K mile parts and labor warranty. Am I now loking at time for a rebuilt tranny? The shop said that they thought it sounds like the "pressure bearing". I couldnt find anything in the Bentley about the "pressure bearing". Any ideas what they are talking about? Maybe you can enlighten me. The shop I use is a reputable Saab shop and I know they wouldnt try to con me but just looking for other ideas as to what the cause may be. Thanks in advance.
