The same portion of my hose went about a month ago. I took the entire hose and line assembly to a local shop that makes hoses to order while you wait. They replaced the original flexable section with a metal braid reinforced hose with SAE fittings holding it to the remaining steel lines. If it breaks or leaks all I have to do is replace that section. I also sleeved that portion of the line with a hard plastic sleeve that is similar to what is used for wiring. However, this sleeve is very tough but still flexible and the counterman said it is used for armoring lines and hoes in high temperature locations. All this cost me 30 minutes (20 of which were standing in line) and $27. The sleeve material was free.
