Izzy,
I just experienced a fuel pump failure and I'm in the process <waiting for Saabstory to get me the correct pump> of changing it out.
Like you, I jumped 27 and 30 and the pump did not run. I tried starting and the pump did not run. Had an assistant listen too... nothing. I thought, what the heck could the problem be? Is it for sure the fuel pump? I then realized that if I take off the rear cover and get to the electrical plug on the fuel pump, pull it off, put a test light on the terminals and then do the jump between 27 and 30 I should have power to the pump. If the test light comes on... I have power to the terminal. If I have power to the terminal, then it's the pump. If no power, then it's in the wiring or elsewhere. Hope this helps.
Oh, and changing the fuel pump is so easy! Really, it's very easy. Had the pump out in 15 minutes. It's the waiting for my new fuel pump that's killing the process.
Good luck.
