You are probably right, unless you have a fan with worn bushings that really burdens the system(common). Do you get the same drop with no rebound with other accessories?
If you have cleaned all the grounds an battery terminals and tried a new regulator, the only thing left is the alternator. I think that the section that the regulator brushes contact (commutator?, maybe that's a generator term) eventually wears out. BTW I would put in a Bosch from a sponsor like sobstory 800-583-0370, rather than a chain store cheapy. I have a parts chain cheapy in my 900 that I put in in an emergency and it doesn't put out the juice that the Bosch did. The fans really strain it at startup. sobstory has new fans...again, get a Bosch fan and not the UK Delco that might be in your car. If you have the delco now, besure to get a fan shroud that fits the Bosch, since they are different from the Delco shrouds.
