Sometimes, when replacement parts are bought through local parts stores, the overtemp switch will be replaced with the fan switch. The threads are the same, so they will fit in place of each other. The difference is the fan switch is normally open until the proper temp is reached, and the overtemp is normally closed until the proper temp is reached. Anther difference between the 2 switches is the spacing of the terminals. The fan switch's terminals are very close to each otherm, the overtemp switch's terminal s are much farther apart.
Please don't ask how I know this, but this is why we should all stick to the sponsors, they know their stuff. The proper overteemp switch is about $115 to $35, depending on wher you buy
