Hi,
I'm looking for some info on my grandfather's 1991 900 non turbo. the gas gauge is not working, so he headed into the tank to see what the problem is. removed the cylinder with the floater in it, and even when turning it completely upside down does not get a reading on the gas guage. we believe the problem may be coming from a part to the right of the fuel pump, about 7-8" in length, and maybe about 3" in diameter. its also located inside the gas tank, with a tube in the middle and possibly a spring (?) inside, and wires on the top. does anybody know what this is, or where a wiring diagram could be found? sounds like a possible electrical problem instead of mechanical... any input is GREATLY appreciated! TIA
