Calling all cylinder head experts (bolts)

I'm in the finishing stages of my C900T 8V port and polish. It should be installed next weekend. I've read somewhere that it is recommended to use new cyl head bolts. And then I've read that it is possible to reuse them just once. In other words, one cylinder head removal and replacement cycle per set of bolts. The n/a car from which I pulled this head never had the head removed, so the bolts from it should be sound for the refitting. Anyone care to share their secrets and insights about the mysteries of cylinder head bolts? The car is my daily driver and I did the head job because the current head is badly corroded and in need of replacement, and for the fun of it. I just want to see if I notice a difference in performance at all with the port and polished head on this mostly stock engine.
I'm considering replacing the engine and tranny completely (swapping in a 16V) given that the 8V engine/tranny has over 200K miles, so if the issue about the new vs. used cyl head bolts is life cycle of the new head gasket being shortened by 20K miles, then I'm not concerned.
