Depending on how/where the wire to the Hall effect sensor is broken, it may be possible to just replace the plug, rather than replace the entire distributor.

Note, however, that the 85 900T is notorious for having rotten wires. The insulation on some of the wires crumbles over time and exposes the wire, which can lead to all types of electrical problems. The fix is to replace the bad wires. Open up the wire harness going over the top of the engine. If the car hasn't previously had this problem fixed, you're likely to find a mess inside. While it may initially look hopeless, it's usually only a few of the wires that are bad.
