Heya guys,

Need some big time help here.

For the past couple months my car has not been driving like it should. I just upgraded the turbo to a Mitsubishi TE-05 Big 16g compressor wheel w/Texas Monster Thrust Bearing, and I have all the other mods to accomodate it as well. The car is running like it is just a little quicker than stock. My mechanic and I were thinking it may be due to a blown, or slightly blown headgasket.

Here's why we DO think it's the headgasket...
-At idle, bubbles coming up into the coolant resevoir
-I get lots of pressure in the coolant resevoir after the car hasn't been warmed up to even 1/3 on the temp gauge
-Hardstarts, sometimes no starts unless I hold the gas pedal down to keep it idle, sometimes it just starts normally with no problems
-Weird boost issues. the car is setup to run 25psi, and that was with my previous (less efficent) t3-60 turbo. sometimes I only get 10psi in 5th gear. sometimes I get 25psi though.
-Recently the idle has been off just a tad. Ususally it will be fine, somedays it will be higher than usual.

Here's why we DON'T think it's the headgasket...
-No white smoke coming from the exhaust, ever
-Not leaking coolant (I've been watching the level)
-I never see any signs of obvious knock. APC never needs to kick back the boost because it has enough fuel as monitored by my boost gauge and my air/fuel gauge (RRFPR, 30# injectors, water injection, etc).

If I had all the money in the world I'd just have it replaced for better peice of mind. The thing is... headgasket replacement will run me about $500, and I'm pinching pennies right now.

He has been driving the car for me for the past 2 days to try to determine the problem. He's stumped, I'm stumped. I'm going to let him keep it over the weekend (I trust him, don't worry) to drive it some more. It's my call whether I want him to replace the gasket or not. He could go in there and everything would be fine, and I would just lose $500. Or he could go in there to find a blown headgasket.

If you can help determine the problem and need any more information from me, please feel free to email me (above) or IM me (Taylor33LD). I can try to explain the situation a little better.

Please help!
Thanks in advance!!
Taylor
