hello out there...
I am working with a 1988 saab 900 turbo, manual. i have some issues i want to tackle as a DIY before i resign to taking it to the shop. any help in the form of coaching would be greatly appreciated.n i have a manual thats pretty good, but any step by step troubleshooting techniques anyone might lend would be great. here is the list of things i need to tackle:

1) replacing right front lower control arm. (seems straight forward enough)

2) had to replace thin pin in shifter that allows reverse. when putting the stick back together i must have done it wrong and offset the position. now i cannot find 1st or 2nd gears. i need to take out and reset.

3) there is a slow draw off the battery that drains it to zero over about 3 days. this seems like a universal auto challenge. any specific formula to follow to find the draw?

4) upon start there is a rough idle and in fact unless system is primed by running it at 3000 rpm for about 5 minutes the car rough jumps up and down and stalls after a minute. also, smell of fuel.

5) a/c fan switch doesnt work. but then again, the a/c doesnt work at the moment either due to a leak (this i will leave to my mechanic) but i would think the switch is easy enough to attempt.

6) i removed my steering wheel and thought i did it properly but when i replaced it thinking it was straight while sitting, it ended up being off about 45 degrees once i drove. i'd like it to be straight again.

7) i'd like to do just a general tune-up
