I am in Sacramento, CA. The car is at a European Garage in Auburn, CA, by the name of Blackforest.

The car is an automatic. The transmission went out on an uphill grade after the temp needle went into the red. The was no smoke or fire, all of a sudden, the car would not go into gear.

Auburn is 35 miles away from my home and I have not made the trip up there to meet the mechanics. It is hard to tell whether they are honest or not over the phone, but Auburn is a small town and if they were dishonest, chances are that they would not have a busisness.

I am new to Sacramento, and therefore, have not met a mechanic I can trust. The one option I do have is tow the car to the dealership in Sacramento, but I do not expect that it will cost any less to repair the car there. I am currently renting a car, and would like to make up my mind about what to do soon.

I have not asked the mechanics if they tried putting fluid in it, I would think that they would know to do that, but maybe not.

Not a fun situation.
