Not a Huge deal, unless you start to get a cylinder flooding or not firing then you know theres a little problem. Replacing the lifters isnt a hard job either if thats the noise. Timing chain isnt that bad either, you mechanic will know the sound if it is. Usually about 300 bucks to have a new one put in. Not bad either. Have your mechanic take a listen when he puts on your new trans. You dont have to get it fixed now, just ask him to call you before he starts workin on your baby to let you know what he thinks and how much he thinks it will cost. Be happy about gettin your girl back on the road!
