as i understand it, the hall sensor signal is passed to the ignition control module/ignition control unit/ignition amp (seems like these 3 terms are used interchangeably here), which, in turn, uses the signal to energize the coil for each spark event.

now, for safety reasons, the fuel injection ECU must receive this signal as well before it pulls down the fuel pump relay and energizes the injectors to start the car. that you have fuel indicates this is happening.

however, are you *sure* the injectors operate each time you're trying to start it? could it be residual fuel from earlier attempts?

anyway, so if you are getting fuel but no spark, the signal must be getting to the ECU via the ICM but the ICM ain't talkin' to the coil. my guess, then, is that trouble can be found somewhere within/between the ignition control module and the coil.

i do not recall if the tell-tale tach bounce comes via the ECU or directly from the ICM. if from the ECU, then none of the above ideas are worth anything and i would doubt you're getting fuel on each start attempt. therefore, confirm actual fuel delivery on start attempt, as well as hall sensor and ICM function before rooting about between ICM & coil.


caveat: the above info is free input from a rank amateur/stranger on an internet forum and, as such, may be completely incorrect. but i hope it's not...
