Blaz,
Dieseling is caused by hot spots in combustion chamber setting off residual gasoline in the cylinders coming up on combustion stroke when engine is turned off.
Carbon deposits can make the problem worse but, before pulling the head, try using a gasoline additive formulated for cleaning deposits. Also, 100 octane is more than enough for your car. Octane booster is overkill unless you advance the ignition, which makes the dieseling worse.
Also, the last carbureted cars of any make in America came equipped with a fuel shutoff solenoid which activates when the ignition is turned off. The solenoid blocks all fuel flow so none can be pulled into the intake manifold at the moment of shutoff.
Check if your car is equipped with one. Perhaps it became unplugged when you did the other work. Or the solenoid may be bad.
My two kroner.
Good luck.
