Also check the Townsend site (http://www.townsendimports.com). I love their trick for using the starter to loosen the nut. I use it to great effect on my 9000's.
It is a PITA in the 900, mostly because the working part of the engine is butt up against the firewall. Most folks end up making a shortened socket to go onto the pulley nut. But it is a DIY task - not a very quick one, but a doable task.
As just about every posting will tell you, if you're pulling the harmonic balancer, you might as well replace the main seal. And if you're replacing the main seal, you might as well replace the oil pump O-ring. The oil pump is right behind the pulley, bolted to the timing cover, with the crankshaft coming right through the middle. The main seal is in the oil pump, and the o-ring is a thin rubber ring between the oil pump and the timing cover. These usually leak, and if they're not leaking now, they will, about two weeks after you replace the pulley. So for the $10 the seal and o-ring cost (total), spend the extra half-hour and replace them, too.
Good luck!
