1. Do you work on your own Saab?
Y-Get to know the Townsend import site. Has lots of good information on the convertible. Otherwise, the 900T conv has the same issues as any 900T.
Cooling system maintenance, vacumn hoses getting brittle and breaking leading to wacky events, Automatic transmissions failing and leading to a $3000 repair.
N-find a good Saab shop, before you need it. check out this site, post messages looking for shop in your area. I generally prefer independant shops as opposed to a dealer because the dealer is interested in selling you a new car, while the independant wants to help you keep your car alive.
Items to consider...
1. Steering racks start to leak, and must eventually be replaced. Keep an eye on your power steering fluid.
2. I'm a fan of putting new ball joints on the car after 100K miles. They make the suspension feel like it is new again. I've found the difference in "feel" to be dramatic.
3. Read the Townsend imports site information on cooling system maintenance. Use the Mercedes Benz coolant or new Zerex G05.
4. Oil changes and Automatic trans maintenance (if you have an auto) I'm a manual guy, and autos die and are expensive, so if you have an auto take care of it.
Good Luck!
