83 900 Turbo about to be driven into the river! Ugh!

Don't get me wrong I'm a saab nut through and through. I have never been stranded by a saab after driving various years/models, but my patience is wearing thin as my 83 won't run right and I am not able to drive it. Here's the skinny:
A while ago I posted a question concerning black smoke from the tail pipe and extremely rough idle/performance. To the point of zero acceleration. Several users posted very helpful responses pointing to the CIS Fuel Injection system.
Since then I have tested:
1. The cold start valve - It only sprays upon start up and upon immediate acceleration. I tested the the connection as well and it's delvering the correct signals.
2. The thermo sensor (installed on the thermostat housing) - This was swapped for a working one while in the shop for inspection. It actually ran worse. So I'm assuming it's most likely not this sensor???
3. I checked the vacuum hoses, but I need to replace all of them as I know you can not always see the problems they cause when old.
Items I suspect (please feel free to debunk or confirm these thoughts):
1. Auxillary Air Valve - I think this could be gummed up.
2. Thermo-time switch (the one between cyl. 2 &3) - The car seems to run better when it's warm/hot. DOes this send a signal to the cold start valve or to the fuel injetor system? As I said the Cold start valve wasn't spraying emitting fuel what-so-ever during my test. I suspect this switch if it doesn't feed the cold start valve.
3. The vacuum hoses. Always an easy fix, but would they make a difference whether the engine is hot or cold.
4. O2 sensor. Would this make any difference? That's an easy fix, but is there a way to diagnose whether this is the problem?
